RERELEASE OF JERUSALEM 2012

This recording was originally released in 2000. It is an exact duplication of the original, with the exception of "Movie Night in Vinylland" which replaces "Sentimental Peregrination". "Movie Night in Vinylland" is a medley of 33 classic movie show themes as performed on the Vinyl Cafe.

The album and song title “Jerusalem” is taken from the preface to ‘Milton’ written by the great William Blake. It was set to music a century later by Parry and added to the Anglican hymnal.

The Spanish Triptych is dedicated to Las Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo (The Grandmothers of May Square) for having the courage to raise their voices against an oppressive Argentine dictatorship in the seventies and eighties. Their search for the children who disappeared in that regime (Los Ninos Desaparecidos) is ongoing.

Special Thanks:

My parents, Joseph and Gloria Sheard for their support, always.

To Michele Harney for keeping me honest - in both official languages.

Stuart Mclean and the Vinyl Cafe family, especially Jess Milton for her idea "Movie Night in Vinylland".

Lastly and profoundly, all the fans of my music in Canada and beyond who have made it possible, fun and gratifying for me to continue to make these recordings.

Also to Stuart Mclean for his Vinyl Cafe – which is surely the catalyst for this recording.

This CD is dedicated to the late great pianist, Dave McKenna who has given me so much.
